Allan Rand was born in Vejle, Denmark in 1983.
He has lived and worked in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, London, Porto, Brussels and Sydney.
In chronological order, he has also had studios in West Oakland (California), Haa (Sweden), Lima (Peru), and Los Angeles (California).
He has had solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in galleries and institutions in Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Portugal, Israel, Estonia, and Britain.
His recent solo exhibitions include Serendipitous Sojourns (Galerie Nagel Draxler, Cologne), Haus eines Misanthropen (Künstleverein Makasten, Düsseldorf) and House of a Misanthrope (Knulp, Sydney) and has participated in group exhibitions such as Marres Currents #4: Running Time (Marres (House for Contemporary Culture), Maastricht), 71. Internationale Bergische Kunstausstellung (Kunstmuseum Solingen) and 17th Bienal de Cerveira (The Cerveira International Art Biennal Foundation).
He currently lives and works in Mogendoura, Australia
Patrick Hartigan was born in Sydney in 1977, where he currently lives.
He has presented solo and group exhibitions in galleries in Australia and New Zealand regularly since 2004.
His work is held in a number of collections including the Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney; The Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth; the Chartwell Collection, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Auckland; Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne; the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney; the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; and Wollongong University Art Collection.
His book Offcuts, which engages critically with his visual art practice, was published in 2019 by Gazebo, and his second book of short prose and drawings, The Village Is Quiet, was published in late 2021. Between 2014 and 2018 he was the art critic for The Saturday Paper. He was awarded a Doctor of Creative Arts by the University of Wollongong in 2016.
